Reverend, Keith L. Johnson is an anointed servant of the Lord. He is the Senior Pastor of Greater Emmanuel Full Gospel Baptist Church, located in Durham, North Carolina. He is happily married to the lovely Betty Ann Murphy Johnson. Like many men of God, his life consists of a cycle of preparation, the Calling, and a period of testing by God.
Reverend Johnson was born in Chicago, Illinois, and he was raised in the church and taught to fear God, the beginning of wisdom. He was baptized at the age of eleven at the Providence Missionary Baptist Church, in Chicago, Illinois, where his pastor was the late N.C. Lunsford.
Reverend Johnson obtained valuable life experience by serving our country in the United States Army for several years. As Pastor of Greater Emmanuel, he has established a record of community service. He is also a retired law enforcement officer. Reverend Johnson received his formal education from Chicago Public Schools, Fayetteville State University, Shaw Divinity School, and Mount Caramel School of Theology. Reverend Johnson also holds a Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary and a Master of Science in Leadership from the University of Arkansas. He is a member of IOTA Phi Theta Fraternity Inc.
Pastor Johnson was called to pastor Greater Emmanuel on Sunday, January 20th, 2002. He has established a powerful ministry of Faith, Love, and Service. Reverend Johnson says, “In this church, we look down on no one unless we are reaching down to lift them up.” His favorite scripture is Joshua 24:15, “Choose ye this day whom ye shall serve, as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

HISTORY OF CHURCH
Reverend Artis Plummer Jr. founded the Greater Emmanuel Full Gospel Baptist Church in February 1999. He pastored the church until his untimely death in January 2001.
Reverend Plummer graduated from North Carolina Central University Law School and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Reverend Plummer was a masterful orator and he had compassion for those people who suffered from addictions. He had compassion, empathy, and patience with those he led.
To me…he was Moses! In January 2002 the church voted and called K. Lemont Johnson
THE VISION
The vision for Greater Emmanuel Full Gospel Church is to make disciples and positively impact the community through the teaching and service to Jesus Christ.
“Therefore go make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you, always, to the end of the age.” -Matthew 28:19-20 NIV
